OPEN DAY - Come and try sailing !

On Sunday May 12th we will be hosting our annual Open Day and at the same time fundraising for the sailing charity Sail 4 Cancer.

Open Day is your chance to learn something about our club, and discover the sport of dinghy sailing. There will be an opportunity to try sailing as our members will be available to take anyone interested out in a boat for a short taster session. There will also be a display of various classes of sailing dinghy, and an opportunity to chat to members and find out more about sailing and windsurfing at Winscar. We are an RYA accredited Training Centre and we can offer Dinghy Sailing courses for all abilities as well as Powerboat and First Aid courses.

Even if you don’t want to have a go, it’s a beautiful Peak-park location, where you can just sit and watch the sailing while also enjoying our tea, coffee and home-made cakes.

All proceeds from sales of tea, coffee and cakes on the day will be donated to Sail 4 Cancer. This will be the 13th year that we have supported their ‘Tea by the Sea’ event and so far we have has raised over £1000 for the charity.

The club will be open to visitors between 12.00 noon and 4 pm. Everyone is welcome. Everyone wanting to try sailing is recommended to bring a change of clothes, a waterproof or windproof top, and some old shoes.
