Club Open Day
![]()
Come and try sailing on Saturday 25 April 2026.
Pennine Sailing Club provides a welcoming and safe environment where people can learn, race, and build skills. If you have ever wondered what it is like to be out on the water in a dinghy, this is your chance to have a proper go, meet members of our club, and see what the club is all about.
What you can do on the day
- Enjoy a friendly welcome from members who sail, race, volunteer, and keep the club running
- Experience a sailing taster session with experienced instructors and full safety cover
- Find out more about our training centre, including RYA courses that enables clear progression from beginner to confident sailor
- Take a look around the clubhouse and boat park, with the chance to chat about membership options
Who it is for
- Children aged 7 and over who are happy in the water and can swim
- Adults who want to have a go, learn something new, or get back into sailing
- Families looking for a fun outdoor activity that children can enjoy and grow with
- Anyone curious about dinghy sailing, relaxed club sailing, or learning new skills
- People who like a friendly club atmosphere where everyone pitches in and enjoys being on the water
What to bring
- Clothes you do not mind getting wet (layers are best)
- Trainers that can get wet (no flip flops)
- A warm change of clothes and a towel
- If you have them: wetsuit, buoyancy aid, sailing gloves
- Sun protection if it is bright
If you do not have kit, do not worry. We will talk you through what you need and what can be provided.
