Spring Series - Week 5 summary

Published 6:38pm on 26 Apr 2026

It was a glorious day again for sailing with a pleasant breeze building from about 7 mph up to 12 mph through the day although at the same time the wind direction moved 180 degrees with the race team moving the line three times from one end of the reservoir to the other!  The race team did a great job setting good long races and courses with the final race covering all corners of Winscar.

There was some really close racing through the day and yet again some people went to the wrong mark (repeating the errors from Thursday evening!) .  After 5 solid races it was the Smiths that won the day with Kathryn getting the day with two firsts, a second, third and forth. Pushing her hard was son Sebastian who came in second overall with Peter Crossley racing consistently for third place.  Emily, John Hollis and Dominic also got placings through the day.

Champagne sailing all day with a good 2 and a half hours of racing for those that wanted it!  Thank you to the duty team of Pete, Ed and Rich for making it all happen.

Now we have had 2 weekends of the Spring Series, the first view of the overall series are also available in the Results section of the website for those who want to know how things are shaping up.
