Spring Series - Week 4 summary
Published 7:01pm on 19 Apr 2026
Fantastic conditions today, a sunny and pleasantly warm (for the time of year!) day with a westerly 10-15mph wind today which tempted a brilliant 17 boats across 10 different classes helmed by members of all abilities out on the water in the morning. Once the direction settled after the first short race the duty team were able to make use of the full length of Winscar for two longer races. Whilst some called it a day at lunchtime (maybe those two longer races were enough for some!) it was great to see 10 boats back out on the water in the afternoon for another two races. On the water Richard and Fraser in their Javelin were first across the line in all but the last race (which they retired from to give someone else the opportunity for line honours!) but what happens when the handicap kicks in.....results available in the usual place if you want to know!
Alongside the racing it was great to see the University of Sheffield Sailing Club out on the water fine tuning their team racing skills.
Thank you to the duty team of Greg, Henry, Jason and Helen for making it all possible.
